This policy explains what personal data queenketo.com (“QueenKeto”, “we”, “us”) collects when you visit the site, sign up for our emails, leave a comment or click a product link, why we do it, who we share it with and what your rights are. We keep it as short and plain as we can.
Who is responsible for your data
The controller of your personal data is Claassen Trading, the owner of queenketo.com, registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (KVK) under number 94458243, Zandershof 21, 1971 PG IJmuiden, the Netherlands.

The short version
- We never sell your email address or other personal details to anyone.
- The site is funded by ads and affiliate links, so our advertising partner and some affiliate partners use cookies. Where the law requires it, you can accept or refuse these in the consent banner.
- Your email address is only used for the emails you signed up for, and you can unsubscribe with one click.
- You can ask us at any time what we hold about you, and have it corrected or deleted.
What we collect and why
When you visit the site
Like every website, our servers and our security and performance service (Cloudflare) process technical data when you load a page: your IP address, browser type, device, the page you asked for, the referring page and the time of your visit. We need this to deliver pages to you, keep the site fast and protect it against attacks and spam. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website. These logs are kept only for a limited period and are not used to build a profile of you.
Statistics (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which recipes are popular and how visitors find us. It uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, your approximate location (country or city), and your device and browser. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store IP addresses. We use these statistics only in aggregate, never to identify you. Our advertising partner also runs its own Google Analytics measurement on the site to report ad performance. Legal basis: your consent where the law requires it, otherwise our legitimate interest in improving the site. You can also block Google Analytics with Google’s opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising
Ads on this site are served by our advertising partner Journey by Mediavine and the ad networks it works with (including Google). They use cookies and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure results and, where you allow it, show ads based on your interests. The data involved includes cookie and device identifiers, IP address, browser information and the pages you visit. Legal basis: your consent where the law requires it (for example for visitors from the UK, the EEA and Switzerland, through the consent banner). Affiliate links
Many ingredient and equipment links on QueenKeto are affiliate links. When you click one, a link service (Geniuslink) records the click and sends you to the right store for your country, and the store (for example Amazon or iHerb) may set a cookie so that we earn a small commission if you buy something. This costs you nothing extra. We only receive anonymous reports of clicks and sales; we never see who bought what. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in funding the site. Newsletter and the free Clean KETO book
When you sign up for our emails or the free book, we collect your email address (and your first name if you give it). We use double opt-in: you first get an email asking you to confirm. After that we send you the book, our welcome emails and our monthly newsletter with new recipes, and occasionally a tip or offer we think is genuinely useful. We send these emails with Brevo, which also tells us whether an email was opened or a link was clicked, so we can see which recipes you like. Legal basis: your consent. Every email has an unsubscribe link and you can withdraw your consent at any time. See the Brevo privacy policy.
Keto timeline calculator
The calculator works in your browser. The numbers you enter (such as weight, height, age and goal) are not sent to us or stored on our servers. If you share your result, those numbers become part of the link you share. If you sign up from the calculator, for our emails or for the meal plan test panel, we receive your email address, your first name if you give it, your goal (lose fat or build muscle), the number of weeks in your timeline and the plan code that fits your result, and the newsletter section above applies. Google Analytics counts how often the calculator is used and how often people sign up, with the goal, weeks and plan code but never your weight, height or age.
Buying the 30-day keto meal plan
Our online shop is run by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as the seller (merchant of record): it handles the payment, sales tax and invoice. Lemon Squeezy receives your name, email address, billing country and payment details and processes them under its own privacy policy. We never see your card details. From Lemon Squeezy we receive your name, email address, your order number, what you bought and your plan code.
We use these to give you access to your plan and your private plan link (including sending the link again if you ask for it), to send the emails that come with the plan (getting started, tips during the month and a check-in at the end) and to answer questions about your order. Legal basis: performing our agreement with you. You can stop the plan emails at any time with the link in each email. After the last plan email we add you to our monthly newsletter, which you can unsubscribe from with one click.
Meal plan test panel
If you join our meal plan test panel, we use your email address, first name and plan code to send you the first week of your plan, a few emails during your test week and a link to a short questionnaire. When you send the questionnaire, we keep your answers and give you a private link to your full 30-day plan. We use your answers only to improve the plan. We only show your words on our website if you said yes in the questionnaire, with your first name or without a name, as you chose. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email or by replying to one of them.
About a month after your full plan, we may invite you to a short, optional questionnaire about your results: how many weeks you followed the plan, whether you moved toward your goal and, if you want to tell us, roughly how much your weight changed. Because this is information about your health, we only keep it if you tick the consent box on that questionnaire. We use it only to see how well the plan works and to improve it, and we only show your words or result on our website if you said yes. You can withdraw your consent and ask us to delete your answers at any time by writing to [email protected].
To keep private plan links private, we count from how many different internet connections a link is opened. For each one we store a scrambled code, not your IP address itself. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in preventing plan links from being shared publicly.
The web version of your plan remembers your start date and the items you tick off on your own device (in your browser’s storage). This stays on your device and is not sent to us.
Contact form and emails
If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and message, and use them only to reply and handle your question. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you. We delete these messages when they are no longer needed, at the latest two years after our last contact.
Comments and recipe ratings
When you leave a comment or rate a recipe, we store your name, email address, comment, rating, IP address and browser information. Your name, comment and rating are shown publicly; your email address and IP address are not. The IP address and browser information help us detect spam. To show your profile picture, an anonymised string made from your email address (a hash) may be sent to the Gravatar service (see the Automattic privacy policy). The star ratings below our recipes store your vote and a small entry in your browser so you cannot vote twice. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in hosting a useful, spam-free comment section. Comments stay on the site for as long as the recipe is published, unless you ask us to remove them.
If you tick the box in the comment form, your name and email address are saved in a cookie in your own browser for one year, so you don’t need to type them again.
Embedded videos and social media
Some recipes contain videos from YouTube or Vimeo. When such a video loads, that platform may set cookies and collect data about you, just as if you visited their site, especially if you are logged in to an account with them. Links to our Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram pages take you to those platforms, where their own privacy policies apply.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. We use these types:

Where the law requires your consent, the consent banner lets you accept or refuse statistics and advertising cookies, and the full, current list of partners and cookies is shown there. You can change your choice at any time: clearing the cookies for queenketo.com in your browser brings the banner back. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site will still work, although ads may become less relevant.
Who we share data with
We only share personal data with companies that help us run the site, and only as far as they need it:
- FastComet: web hosting (servers in London, UK)
- Cloudflare: security and fast page delivery (privacy policy)
- Google: statistics and advertising (privacy policy)
- Journey by Mediavine and its ad partners: advertising (privacy policy)
- Brevo: newsletter and email (privacy policy)
- Lemon Squeezy: online shop and payments for the meal plan (privacy policy)
- Geniuslink, Amazon and Partnerize/iHerb: affiliate links
- Automattic (Gravatar): profile pictures in comments
We may also disclose data if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of our visitors.
Transfers outside Europe
Some of these companies are based in, or process data in, the United States or other countries outside the European Economic Area and the UK. Where that happens, the transfer is protected by appropriate safeguards, such as the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep data
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe. After that we keep only your email address on a suppression list, so we never email you again by mistake.
- Meal plan purchases: your name, email address, order and plan code for as long as you can use your plan, and order records for seven years because Dutch tax law requires it.
- Contact messages: until your question is handled, and at the latest two years after our last contact.
- Meal plan test panel: your answers (including your 30-day results) and test panel details until we have finished improving the plan, and at the latest two years after your test week, unless you ask us to delete them sooner. Words you allowed us to publish stay up until you ask us to remove them.
- Comments and ratings: as long as the recipe is published, unless you ask us to remove them.
- Server and security logs: a limited period, only as long as needed for security.
- Statistics: Google Analytics data is kept for a maximum of 14 months.
Your rights
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to its use, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw your consent at any time (this does not affect anything done before you withdrew it). To use any of these rights, email [email protected]. We reply within one month and may ask you to confirm your identity first.
Visitors from the United States: depending on the state you live in, you may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete or correct it, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. Advertising cookies set by our ad partners may count as “sharing” under some state laws; you can opt out through the privacy choices offered by our advertising partner on the site, or by turning on Global Privacy Control in your browser. You can also email us.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, please contact us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. Our lead authority is the Dutch Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens; you can also contact the authority in your own country (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).
Children
QueenKeto is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We protect the site and your data with encrypted connections (HTTPS), a security firewall, limited admin access and regular updates. No website can be completely secure, but if a data breach ever affects you, we will inform you and the authorities as the law requires.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it was last updated. If a change is significant, we will tell newsletter subscribers by email.
